The Port Hope Contractors’ Portal was created in 2013 by the Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Port Hope.
The Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1874 and represents the Voice of Business in the Port Hope community. The PH&DCC has been involved with the PHAI projects since 2009 and actively developing programs to support businesses working with the PHAI projects since 2011.

The Contractors’ Portal creates a “one stop shop” for large prime contractors looking to hire local businesses and workers and for smaller businesses looking to collaborate with each other.

Radiological investigations of approximately 175 Port Hope road allowances and laneways will begin in October as part of the Port Hope Project Property Radiological Survey. No road closings are anticipated, and the work is expected to take approximately eight months to complete.
To date, almost 4,000 properties are involved in some aspect of the Property Radiological Survey, which will test approximately 4,800 properties in Port Hope for the presence of historic low-level radioactive waste. Here’s an update on where we are in the five campaigns:

Site-specific remediation designs are underway for the 45 properties confirmed to have waste;
in total, 430 properties were tested.
